Dr. Tamela Brand
Dr. Tamela Brand is the Assistant Principal/Program Specialist at Morris Slingluff Elementary School. She was previously an Instructional Coach for 2 years and a classroom teacher for 19 years. Dr. Brand has been a classroom teacher for 3 years at Morris Slingluff Elementary School and had the honor of being named Teacher of the Year. Dr. Brand has a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership (P-12) from Samford University. She also has an Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Instructional Leadership (P-12), a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership (P-12), a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education (K-6), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Troy University. Dr. Brand also holds certifications in Early Childhood Education (P-3) and Secondary English Language Arts (6-12). Dr. Brand is a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in the area of Literacy: Reading-Language Arts for Early and Middle Childhood (Ages 3-12).
Dr. Brand is married and her husband is also an educator. She and her husband have 2 children and as a family they are very active in their church and community.
