Mission Statement
The mission of the Dothan City Board of Education’s Comprehensive School Guidance and Counseling program is to provide a structured program of services to ensure that all students (Grades K-12), regardless of their individual differences, acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers, and lifelong learners. Our comprehensive program addresses the educational, career, and personal/social competencies necessary for all students to function and contribute in a changing society.

The Dothan City Schools Guidance and Counseling Program is based upon the following beliefs:

- Drug, alcohol, and tobacco abuse prevention
- Too Good for Violence (environment free of bullying, intimidation, harassment, sexual abuse violence, threats of violence)
