Ms. Johnson is the Principal at Morris Slingluff Elementary School. She was previously the Assistant Principal at Girard Middle School (2012-2016). This is Ms. Johnson’s 24th year in the field of education. Ms. Johnson also served as the Ninth Grade Coordinator at Dothan High School (2008-2012) and as the Program Coordinator for the Community Intensive Treatment for Youth (C.I.T.Y.) Program of Houston County. During her 14 years with C.I.T.Y. Program, she also served as a classroom teacher and educational coordinator. Her first teaching position was as a science teacher at East Bay High School in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Leo College, a Master's Degree and an Educational Leadership Certification from Troy University. While completing her studies at Troy University, Ms. Johnson served as Student Government President and Vice President of Kappa Delta Pi. She also received the Dean’s Award which is the highest honor bestowed upon a graduate student. Ms. Johnson is very involved in community activities. She serves on the Education Committee of the Houston County Children’s Policy Council, is a member of the Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, an Advisory Board member for Houston County 4-H, and an Advisory Board member of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. of the Wiregrass. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, watching classic movies, reading and collecting author-signed books.
