  • Generator Bid : Addendum & Q/A::

    Q:  Will there need to be a concrete pad poured for the generator and fuel tank to sit on?

    A:  Yes, a new concrete pad will be needed. There is a designated location outside of the data center for this to go.

    Q: Is there an existing conduit for the cabling going from the outside location of the generator to the inside?

    A: Yes, there is a 3 inch conduit going from the outside location for the generator to the inside where the power transfer switch is located.

    Q: Will the job require weekend and/or after business hours work to be performed?

    A: It will depend on the leadtime and arrival schedule of the equipment. We can not shut down mains power at this location during scheduled school days due to the effect it will have on all schools in the district.

    Q: What is the expected contract time for the project and when will the final payment be submitted?

    A: We understand that there are restrictions on the leadtime for the equipment which will directly affect that start date. Before a bid winner is awarded, I will reach out to each bidder and request an estimated delivery date of the equipment. Once the equipment has been delivered by the winning bidder, we would expect the project to be completed within 60 days. The final payment will be submitted to the winning bidder 30 days after the project is completed.

    Q: Do you want the contractor to include a full tank of diesel fuel for the generator?

    A: No. DCS will take care of this.
