Strategic Plan 2026 - 2030

Dothan City Schools Strategic Plan 2026 - 2030

Preparing every learner with the skills, confidence, and readiness to learn, thrive today, and succeed in the future.

ABOUT THE PLAN

On February, 17, 2026, the Dothan City Schools Board of Education approved and formally adopted the Dothan City Schools 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, establishing a shared vision and roadmap for the future of the district. The plan was developed through community surveys focus groups, and community collaboration and reflects the voices of our students, families, staff, and community stakeholders across DCS.

"Their voices shaped every step of this work, and the result is a clear, community-driven roadmap for our future," said Superintendent Dr. Garrick Askew. "It's about teachers and staff having the tools they need, students having access to opportunities, and families and the community being true partners in education."

The plan focuses on four strategic pillars:

  1. Collaborative Leadership & Connected Community
  2. Mental Health & Social-Emotional Learning
  3. Academic Excellence for Lifelong Success
  4. Pathways to Purpose & Career Readiness

Together, these priorities will guide district decision making, strengthen student opportunities, and support the continued growth and success of Dothan City Schools over the next five years.
