"Anchor Charts" Super Strategy Part of DCS Whole Child Initiative
DOTHAN, Ala. – Dothan City Schools believes in the potential of every student. That’s why the Dothan City Schools Whole Child Initiative focuses on the development of a successful learner through five key tenets — ensuring each child is healthy, safe, challenged, supported, and engaged. As a result of this initiative, students will be knowledgeable, emotionally and physically healthy, and civically-inspired. Each child is nurtured to succeed in all areas of life.
The school district continues to work with the entire community to make this initiative a success and to continue shaping the future of our students.
Throughout this school year, we have shared about our Whole Child “Super Strategies” — Warm Welcomes and Warm Goodbyes and Temperature Checks. “Super Strategies” are easy and impactful practices that create safe, respectful and supportive environments for learning. Our latest featured “Super Strategy” is Anchor Charts.
Take a look at February’s Super Strategy explained by District Bright Key® Coordinator Brittany Shepard and demonstrated by students at Dothan Sixth Grade Center.
