Community members encouraged to attend Whole Child “Community Connection” event
DOTHAN, AL — Dothan City Schools is pleased to invite community members, families, agencies, organizations, businesses and local leaders to attend its upcoming "Community Connection" event. The event will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. at the DCS Board Room, located at 1665 Honeysuckle Road.
This one-hour gathering is part of the district’s continued commitment to the Whole Child Initiative, a district-wide effort focused on supporting students academically, socially, emotionally, and physically through meaningful collaboration with the broader community.
“Our goal is to ensure every child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged — and we know we can’t do that alone,” said Sherry Corbitt, Division of Instructional Services for Dothan City Schools. “This event is a chance for us to strengthen relationships with our community partners and work together to build a system that helps all students thrive.”
Attendees will learn how Dothan City Schools is aligning efforts to support the whole child — in and outside of the classroom — and explore opportunities to get involved in this vital work.
Organizers encourage those interested in attending to RSVP by using the QR code provided on the event flyer (attached). The event promises to be a valuable opportunity for all involved to strengthen partnerships and learn innovative strategies for student success.
