Dothan City Schools Recognized as Top Donating School District to Wiregrass United Way Campaign
DOTHAN, Ala. – As a school community, Dothan City Schools understands the importance of partnerships across the region. One way employees of the district give back is through support of a worthy cause – the Wiregrass United Way. Many district employees give back through heartfelt donations while others choose to give of their time and resources in support of the United Way’s cause.
Recently, the Wiregrass United Way concluded its fundraising campaign. On Friday, April 4, Dothan City Schools was recognized as one of the top employers in the Wiregrass by contributing to the Wiregrass United Way’s annual campaign.
DCS ranked 11th out of 85 employers in our region. Those contributions totaled over $59,396. Furthermore, through our employees’ contribution to Wiregrass United Way, DCS is proud to be the top donating school district in the Wiregrass by far!
“The employees at Dothan City Schools give unselfishly time and time again to help our partners throughout the community.” said Patrick Mallory, Chief Operations Officer at Dothan City Schools. “We know the enormous role the Wiregrass United Way plays in our area, and we are proud to be a part of their philanthropic efforts.”
The Wiregrass United Way serves six counties In the Wiregrass: Barbour, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry, and Houston. Contributions are used by the Wiregrass Foundation to support 48 partner agencies which provide valuable services and resources to those in need. The generous support from DCS employees goes a long way in helping to make southeast Alabama a better place for everyone.
