DOTHAN, Ala.  – As Dothan High School seniors step across the stage at Rip Hewes Stadium on May 15th to receive their diplomas, one exceptional student will stand out in the Class of 2025. At just 15 years old, this student will mark a significant milestone in her academic journey, showcasing her dedication and determination.

Darinda Beacham has been preparing for this momentous day for several years. Her academic journey took a unique turn when she transferred to Dothan High School from a homeschool program. Arriving at DHS with advanced credits in English, math, and science, Beacham was already ahead of her peers. She had completed her ninth, tenth, and eleventh-grade core courses, allowing her to focus solely on her twelfth-grade coursework during her time at Dothan High.

While at DHS, Beacham excelled not only in her core subjects but also earned her College and Career Readiness requirement in business. Her hard work and commitment to her studies have paid off, as she will graduate with a commendable 3.5 GPA. As a member of the Dothan Wolves graduating class, Beacham's achievements are a testament to her resilience and passion for learning.

Looking ahead, Darinda Beacham has set her sights on a promising future. She plans to attend Florida A&M University, where she will pursue her dream of becoming a pediatrician.

“I plan to go to college in the fall. I am excited, maybe a little scared, and happy all at the same time,” Beacham said.

Her ambition to enter the medical field reflects her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.

“We are so excited to see Darinda join the Class of 2025 in receiving her high school diploma at the age of 15 years old,” said Dr. Dennis Coe, Dothan City Schools Superintendent. “Her dedication to her school work is extraordinary, and we want to take time to congratulate her on this major accomplishment.”

Darinda Beacham's story is an inspiring example of how determination and hard work can lead to remarkable accomplishments, even at a young age. Her journey serves as a beacon of hope and motivation for her peers and the community, as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.

“I am really proud of myself and I appreciate all the staff here for helping me and pushing me. They have helped me to strive to get better with my work,” she explained.

Dothan High’s graduation is Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Rip Hewes stadium beginning at 7:30pm.
