Dothan City Schools Students Participate in Alabama Science and Engineering Fair
Students Advanced from Greater East Alabama Regional Science Fair
DOTHAN, Ala. – Dothan City School students from across the district earned recognition and prizes for their projects at the recent Alabama Science and Engineering Fair (ASEF). ASEF is the official science fair for the State of Alabama. At this event, winners from Alabama’s 5 Regional Fairs competed in a virtual fair environment. The competition took place online from April 4-8, 2022.
"I am extremely proud of our students and their effort in the Alabama Science and Engineering Fair,” says Superintendent Dr. Dennis Coe. “Dothan City Schools was represented well by our talented students, and this shows by the numerous awards that were garnished during this ceremony. Congratulations to all who participated and who received awards!"
ASEF is the Alabama State Science and Engineering Fair, an affiliate fair of the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. ISEF, the premiere science competition in the world, annually provides a forum for millions of students from over 50 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research. ASEF hosts middle and high school regional fair winners from across the state.
“This year has been a game-changer for so many of our students across the district because of their commitment to learning,” says Dr. Mark Dunaway, District Instructional Specialist; however, “the best is yet to come!” he adds. Students will take this knowledge and soar to new heights next school year as they continue to research the world of science, math. and technology. We are extremely grateful for everyone who supported the students from the school fairs to the state level. It's another milestone for Dothan City Schools.
