Dothan City Board of Education and Dothan City Schools Announces Jed Kennedy as Dothan High School Head Football Coach
DOTHAN, Ala. – Jed Kennedy has been named the new head football coach for Dothan High School (DHS), Dothan City Board of Education, and Dothan City Schools (DCS) Athletics announced Monday night. Kennedy comes to Dothan High School from Enterprise High School, where he served as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the last three years.
“We are excited to have Coach Kennedy join our DCS family and lead all aspects of our football program from our feeder schools to the high school,” says Jessica Noble, DCS Athletic Director. “His passion is football, but more importantly, he has a passion for building positive relationships with students. It’s an exciting time for our football program, our school, and our community.”
As Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Enterprise, Kennedy led the program from 2-16 in the previous two years to 20-14 with three Playoff appearances and a Final 8 appearance, as well as took Enterprise’s defense that was ranked last in the 7A in scoring two years in a row and led them to 16th in 2020 and 2021.

His passion for molding student-athletes was what attracted us to him the most. We look forward to many good things to come under his leadership,” says Dr. Dennis Coe, Superintendent of Dothan City Schools.
Kennedy’s career includes an impressive 115-47 overall record and 26-10 playoff record in his 14 years as a head coach in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida. Under his leadership as Head Coach, his teams have been the 2011 Wisconsin Division 1 State Champion, 2017, and 2018 Wisconsin Division 2 State Runner-Ups. They have seen four State Semi-Final Appearances and eight State Quarter-Final Appearances. Kennedy was named in 2011 as the Associated Press and Green Bay Packer State Coach of the Year and has been named six times as a Conference Coach of the Year.
