Wiregrass Blues Society Presents $3,000 Check to Dothan City Schools
On Thursday, February 20, 2020, Dothan City School 5th & 6th Graders had the opportunity to attend Wiregrass Blues Society's Blues in the Schools Program at the Dothan Civic Center. The Blues in Schools Program was led by the Wiregrass Blues Fest’s main headliner, Teeny Tucker.
At the end of the program, the Wiregrass Blues Society generously donated $3,000 to buy instruments and supply other musical programming needs for Dothan City Schools.
The Wiregrass Blues Society is a non-profit organization, dedicated to celebrating our rich blues heritage – both locally and nationally. Every year, with the extra proceeds raised from our annual Wiregrass Blues Fest, the society makes a donation to a local school for music instruments and programming. In addition, the society will also present exceptional blues in schools’ programs for our area’s children through generous grants received from the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
