The Dothan High School (DHS) Class of 2020 will be honored and receive their diploma on June 6, 2020, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the north parking lot of the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds (NPF). Dothan City Schools (DCS) remain dedicated to providing the graduating Class of 2020 with a dignified year-end celebration that the students deserve while following the permitted and specific commencement scenarios outlined by Alabama State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey. School and District leadership believe the drive-thru commencement scenario provides the safest option with the greatest opportunity to share our pride, recognition, and school spirit for the Class of 2020.

Each graduate will receive a ticket for their car to enter the grounds. Only vehicles with tickets will be allowed to enter the grounds and car occupants will be required to remain inside of their vehicles for the duration of the program, with exception to the graduate when their name is called to walk across the stage. During the recognition, the ceremony will be broadcast live on WOOF Radio stations 560 AM, 100.1 FM, and 107.1 FM. Large digital boards will display the graduates for viewing throughout the National Peanut Festival parking lot. The ceremony will also be live-streamed on the District Facebook page.  Please note there will be no restroom facilities available. No limos, party vans, charter buses. A vehicle must fit in a single parking spot in order for our numbering to work.

Additional recognition for the Class of 2020 will include a virtual Baccalaureate Service with details being worked on with Ridgecrest Baptist Church, graduate yard signs that will be delivered to the home of each graduating senior, and virtual graduation.  Additionally, digital billboards in Dothan began running this week to honor the senior class of 2020.

Dothan City Schools would like to thank the City of Dothan, Chairman Mike Schmitz, WOOF Radio, and the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds for their support in helping DCS honor and celebrate the Class of 2020 in the best manner possible while maintaining the safety and security of the DHS Wolfpack Family.

Additional details will be provided in the coming weeks to graduates and attendees.
