WHEN:             Saturday, June 5, 2021
                        The ceremony begins at 8 AM
                        Graduates should arrive no later than 7 AM

The Dothan High School (DHS) Class of 2021Commencement Ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 8 AM at The Crossing at Big Creek Amphitheater. Graduates should arrive no later than 7 AM. 

Each graduate will receive eight (8) tickets for attending family and friends. Attending family and friends will need to bring folding chairs and/or chairs for seating.

The ceremony will also be live-streamed on the District Facebook Page.

Graduate Information

All graduates must be dressed appropriately to participate in graduation and it is recommended that you review the dress guidelines that were distributed with the cap and gown pickup. Graduation is a formal occasion and Dothan High School expects all students to be respectful during the ceremony. Graduates only receive a diploma cover when they walk across the stage. Graduation gowns are rented and must be returned. All students will return their graduation gown to GradPro at the end of the ceremony. When the gown is returned to GradPro, the student will receive the diploma. Instructions for return will be given at graduation practice. 

Graduation Dress Code

1. All ladies are required to wear a lightweight dark dress with a low collar and dark shoes. A DHS cap and gown will be required. This is a school event and the school system dress code is in effect.

2. All gentlemen are required to wear a white dress shirt, solid dark tie, dark dress pants, and dark dress shoes. A DHS cap and gown will be required. This is a school event and the school system dress code is in effect.

3. No chewing gum while on stage. Leave cell phones in your car while on stage.

4. Caps and gowns are to be worn for the graduation ceremony. Wear the cap squarely on the head with the tassel over the right side. CAPS CANNOT BE DECORATED. 

5. Diplomas will be given to you in your left hand. Due to COVID19, there will not be a handshake.

6. All school rules apply for graduation day. Any student who violates any school or dress code rule will be removed and not allowed to participate in graduation.

7. Please respect the rights of ALL family members to hear the name of their graduate being called. 

8. You will only receive the cover of the diploma during graduation. The actual diploma will be given to you when you turn in your gown at the conclusion of the ceremony.  Any behavior problems during the ceremony will result in your diploma being picked up at Dothan High School after meeting with the principal.


9. Most importantly, this is your graduation that you have worked toward for many years. Please make this ceremony an experience that you will be proud of.
